Lighting lamp meditation
As part of our culture, Children light the lamp and sit for five minutes in meditation. It helps them to calm their mind. Children are taught to love, care, forgive and help others in their daily life.
Seeing a picture book
Children are encouraged to learn. Here a child loves to see and explore pictures during language activity. It helps to develop their inner skills in imagination and creativity.
Body movements
Children enjoy doing various creative activities: waste leaf, flowers coloring, paper cutting, painting, drawing, folding, sticking etc.Many crafts made by our children can be seen in the Montesssori building, giving the school a very inviting flair.
Cards presentation
Children learn national flags of different countries in this activity. It helps them to concentrate, memorise and acquire knowledge.
Colour tablet
In this activity the child is introduced to various colours. They also learn to pair and identify colours in other objects around them. They learn light and dark colours.
Alphabet tracing letters
It helps the children to develop accurate basic writing skills, hand-eye coordination, visual perception and memorising alphabetic letters.
Caring for one another
The elder child cares for the younger one by buttoning the collar. The children are taught to love and care for one another in their life.
Moral values
Teacher guides a child in ethical, social and moral education of valued skills.
Cleanliness
Children keep their classrooms and toilets clean and tidy. They wash their hands with water and soap to protect themselves from any infectious diseases.
Play Way Method
It helps the children to be very active. Here the children enjoy balloon activity, by placing their hands above their heads, while keeping the balloon in between two children moving in circle direction. These activities help them to develop patience, an observing mind and good memory. The children also enjoy playing outdoors in the sand with lot of enthusiasm and it is great fun.
Number cards
In this activity the children learn to count with number bells 1 to 10.They learn even and odd numbers.
World puzzle chart
In this activity the children learn to arrange different countries in a right order. As well they learn the names of different countries.
Good behaviour
The teacher guides a child in good manners and helps her to use a handkerchief while sneezing or coughing.
Child saving scheme
To encourage and motivate the parents by cultivating the habit to save some money from their savings, we have introduced this saving scheme. Through this scheme Rs 50 are contributed every month by the parents of each child if they agree to participate. An account has been opened in each child’s individual name at our Bank in Perumalmalai village. At the end of the schooling days we will hand over the child’s saved money. This will benefit the further education of the children who have finished the course with us.
Teacher’s training
Montessori teachers training programme in different activities and various other skills improve their development in education. Teachers participated with great enthusiasm. It helps them to inter-dialogue, share their knowledge, and learn more skilful methods in training the children.
Parents meeting
We encourage parents by providing them an opportunity to share and discuss about their children’s growth and behaviour at home after their enrolment in our school. Parents have been advised to spend some time with their children in listening and observing their activities at home. They have to learn to be more caring and supporting the child in every aspect. At times we request the parents to give their feedback about their children’s personality development and moral values.
Cylinder blocks
These cubes develop visual and muscle perception of dimension. It helps the child in writing skills, as well trains her to hold a pencil.
Colouring
The children enjoy colouring pictures. They learn the names of different objects. They try to identify various colours. It helps to develop their creative skills.
Beads
Mostly the younger children enjoy doing beads activity. It helps them to grow in patience and concentration, and they are very attentive while doing this activity.
Building puzzles
The children learn to build different models in various shapes according to their creative skills. It helps the child to concentrate and stimulates their brain power.
Brown stairs and pink tower
The teacher guides the child by arranging the mixed materials in creative manner. It helps the child to be patient and to develop their observing mind.
Number rods with cards
The children learn to arrange the number rods with number cards. It helps them to learn and identify the numbers 1-10.
Noise box
The children learn to distinguish sounds of high and low with the noise boxes and pair them according to matching sounds. It helps them to develop in listening concentration.
Pink tower
The children learn to build a tower model. Using these materials they identify and differentiate big/small and feel the weight of each cube.
Strip board
The teacher guides a child to learn mathematical addition according to adding numbers. It helps the child to learn and work with numbers.
Chapatti rolling
It helps the child to strengthen their muscles by rolling the chapatti. The child learns how to prepare the chapatti also at home by helping their parents.
Geometrical cabinet
The children learn to hold pencil as well different shapes. It trains them in their writing skills.
Washing hands
The teacher guides a child how to wash the hands properly. It helps the child to maintain cleanliness in their life.
Buttoning
The teacher guides the child how to button the dresses. By this the child learns to button her dress well. It helps every child to be responsible for oneself without depending on their parents.
